How to use the PdftoRvt plug-in in Revit
Click the Login button in the Revit ribbon. Your browser will open automatically to the login page. Enter your email and password. If two-factor authentication is enabled, enter the code from your authenticator app. Once logged in, you can return to Revit. The connection happens in the background.
Before your first use, configure your settings. Choose the folder where your projects will be saved, select your reference template data, and set your preferred language. These settings are saved and don't need to be redone each session.
Click Project to create a new project or select an existing one. Each project has its own number and workspace.
Click Task to select the type of work to perform. Think of tasks like Dynamo commands, but much more powerful, intelligent, and easier to configure. Available tasks depend on your account and field of activity. Each task is tailored to a specific project type (structural, residential, etc.).
Click Sources to import your source documents linked to the selected task. You can import PDF plans, images (PNG, JPG), and add text instructions to specify your needs. Previously imported files are listed in the window. Some tasks don't require sources — the button will be grayed out in that case.
Click Generate to start analyzing your documents. The system analyzes your plans and prepares the data needed for modeling. A progress bar and our mascot keep you company during processing. The mascot may ask you questions to clarify certain elements of your documents. Answer them for a better result.
Once generation is complete, the Model button appears. Click it to automatically create the 3D model in Revit from your documents. Elements are placed according to the conventions of your field.
Coming soon. Developer mode will allow you to add new tasks or easily modify existing ones, directly from the plug-in. Stay tuned for updates.
